# SplitBill

> SplitBill is a Telegram bot for tracking, splitting, and settling group expenses. Add a receipt photo or simply type what you paid, split costs equally, by custom shares, or by letting everyone claim what they had, and settle up with fewer transfers. No sign-up and no extra app — your Telegram profile is the account.

- Receipt recognition: AI reads every item on a receipt in any language, translates the text, and checks that items add up to the total
- Flexible splits: split equally, by custom shares, or let each person claim their items; tips, taxes, and service charges are split proportionally
- Multi-currency: expenses in different currencies are converted to the trip's base currency at the rate frozen on the expense date
- Smart settlement: circular debts are eliminated automatically, so the group needs fewer transfers
- Guests: people without Telegram can be added by name, no account needed
- Pricing: manual expenses are always free; receipt scanning includes a free allowance, more scans via Telegram Stars
