SplitBill is a Telegram bot and companion website that reads receipts and calculates shared expenses. By using the bot or website, you agree to these terms.
Scope of service
SplitBill provides optical character recognition (OCR) for receipt photos, currency conversion assistance, and expense balancing calculations for group chats inside Telegram. The service is designed to help friends, travel companions, and roommates track who paid for what and calculate net balances with fewer bank transfers.
Informational calculations and no custody
SplitBill is a calculation utility, not a bank, licensed financial institution, money transmitter, or payment processor. We do not hold custody of user funds, store monetary balances, or execute money transfers. All monetary settlements occur entirely outside SplitBill between users using their own preferred payment methods (such as cash, bank transfers, or third-party payment apps). While we strive for computational precision, OCR and automated calculations are assistive tools: you are responsible for reviewing and confirming amounts before settling debts.
Acceptable use and bot access
You agree to use SplitBill only for lawful group expense calculations. You may not use automated scripts to spam or scrape the bot, reverse engineer our processing systems, or disrupt services for other users. We reserve the right to rate-limit, suspend, or terminate access for accounts that violate these rules or abuse Telegram's platform standards.
Free tier and digital purchases
Manual expense tracking in group chats is completely free. Receipt scanning includes a complimentary free allowance. Additional receipt OCR scans may be purchased directly inside Telegram using Telegram Stars. All digital token purchases are processed by Telegram and are subject to Telegram's Terms of Service.
Governing law
These Terms of Service and any disputes arising from your use of SplitBill shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [NEEDS-HUMAN-INPUT: Governing law/jurisdiction for Terms of Service], without regard to conflict of law principles.
